Before the body is embalmed you have to register the dead body in the mortuary. Here the intake procedure for Embalming Service in Delhi
1.       The morgue official will ask for the ‘Death Slip’. It is provided by the hospital where the person died.
2.       The identity of the deceased person is verified by checking the ‘dead slip’ with the ID band.
3.       The official will enter the particulars from the death slip, ( may be electronic or manual in a register). This step endures the dead body tag are same as the dead slip.
4.       After the above four steps, the body will be sent to the embalmers.
The embalmers perform additional checks. Subsequently the clean the body, shave the hair, massage the body, enhance the face expression, etc. Most of the embalming services in India have the same intake process. Without the tag/ label the dead body cannot be identified. You must take the permission from the funeral director or embalmer in charge to start the procedure once the dead body has passed the intake process.

Do you want to become an embalmer? A career in the embalming body is a rare choice. It is an act of restraining the dead bodies from decomposition by treating them with the chemical.
Below is some basic information for building a career in embalming –

1. Qualification - It can vary in different countries, usually you have to pursue a degree in funeral studies. It usually takes two years. After the students complete their training (or internship) & pass the exams they are given the license for practicing.

2.Pay scale - In differs according to the demography & the demand. On an average, the salary lies between $32,000 to $48,000.  In the United States, the embalmers can make forty-four thousand three hundred dollars in a year.

3. Embalming Body – The main work is to embalm the arteries. The embalmers choose an incision point in the body. In the arteries a mixture of chemicals called embalming fluid is passed. Generally it takes 7.5 liters of fluid for the process.

4.Decomposition – An embalmed body takes 5-10 years to decompose. It can take longer time if the coffin is placed deep down into the soil.
